Philadelphia Freedom and Grogan does the Lanes

Since we last spoke Third of Never has played in Philadelphia, and our very own CJ Grogan (backed by Vince, Mike, and muah on two songs) had a solo show in Asbury Park.

In a perfect world, I'd post pictures and video from these shows, but I'm really tired, so just imagine yourself on a boat in a river, with mayonaise mud flaps and formaldahide smiles.

An Effort To Do Better and live in Philly

As it turns out, having a moderately successful album is a full-time job. That promise back in January to blog more often went the way of the Dodo bird, but the plan is to throw something up here every couple of days.

Third of Never will be performing at the Brown Bear Festival in Philadelphia on May 9th. Our buddies the Grip Weeds will also be there, along with bands from California and Italy. I will post a link to the festival tomorrow.
Third of Never is also digging through demos for our second album. I (Jon) have written a couple of things with Rabbit, a couple of things with CJ, and a song with Kurt. Once Kurt wraps up the new Grip Weeds recording the plan is to get together and start shaping up this sumbitch.

Electric Forgiveness, my electronica/ambient/progressive project with Rabbit is now on iTunes, and is available on CD from Jam Records. Look for some tracks to start popping up on space rock shows such as Echoes and Hearts of Space.

Morphine Jello, my demo collections, are available on iTunes and my own little T.O.N. Wreckords label. These CDs feature demos and rough sketches of tunes that ended up on "Moodring" by Third of Never and "Echoes and Booms", and some stuff that was too strange for either.

Also available on T.O.N. Wreckords is the CD "Remote Control Is Believing" by Pantomime Horse.
That's where everything's at. Oh yeah, Kurt has stepped up front, so we have a new drummer. To see who it is, visit our site.

New York, New York

Third of Never will be playing at the International Pop Overthrow in NYC on Nov. 7 at 8:30 p.m. The show takes place at Kenny's Castaways.

Our album MOODRING is still inching it's way around the globe. Recent airplay in Madrid and Istanbul has opened up new avenues for us, so the promotional train that we thought would have ended months ago continues to praddle on.

The band has started sending demos for the next album back and forth, and I've written two songs with John "Rabbit" Bundrick that are already locked in for the album.

Speaking of Rabbit, the Electric Forgiveness project, which he and I have been working on for a while, goes on sale next week. I will post links here. The album is being released by Jam Records, the same good folks that brought you MOODRING.

The Grip Weeds and CJ Grogan are both in the middle of their new albums as well. I've launched T.O.N. WRECKORDS for some side projects, most notably Morphine Jello and Pantomime Horse, both of which are now on iTunes.

If the tunes on the player above are still playing, turn the volume down and check out this gem:

Catching up and saving Grace

Wanted to try and rekindle the Blogspot flame...we've got such a good network on MySpace that I admit I've been favoring that monstrosity.

The XM airing and it's subsequent repeats were a big thrill for us. Along with XM, a radio campaign by Powderfinger Promotions of Boston yielded 300 stations for our "Moodring" album. For some reason, the album made it to #7 on the national Jam Band radio chart alongside such artists as the Black Crowes, Maceo Parker, and Willie Nelson.

We have a show coming up at the Annex in NYC on Sept. 5. The Annex is located at 152 Orchard Street. We go on at 7:30, followed by the Anderson Council and the Grip Weeds.

Positive Brand Comics will be releasing a three-volume comic based on the Third of Never song "Mystic Slide". More info on this as it gets to us.

I have released the second volume in the Morphine Jello album series (www.myspace.com/morphinejello).

Today I wrote up the liner notes for the Electric Forgivenss CD (www.myspace.com/electricforgiveness).

T.O.N. WRECKORDS (www.thirdofnever.com) has released the debut CD by Pantomime Horse, "Remote Control Is Believing".

I've written two songs with Rabbit for the next Third of Never album. More on that later.
